Orthopedic Massage is an advanced disciplined type of bodywork that works on reducing pain in the body and bringing the client's posture / structural alignment back into an optimal state.  By focusing on the fascial structure, also known as collagen, the therapist works to release this net from constriction.  This is important as this fascial system is the structural support that provides tension to every single muscle, bone,organ and joint in the body.  When this structure is in distress due to constriction, it can "glue" down to the muscles and bones.  This is when feel "tight" all the time.  There is no room for the muscles, bones, tissue to move around freely.  By working in very specific ways to release this fiber, the client can feel lighter, freer, have more range of motion, feel taller even!  Do not confuse this type with a Swedish massage though!  They are completely different in approach.  Orthopedic work is done with very little oil in slow dragging type of strokes.  

Deep Tissue massage works on the muscles and connective tissue below the skins surface to alleviate pain and help to move toxins, like lactic acid, out of the tissue and into the lymph system.  This massage type can also help with lessening pain deep within the tissue and increase range of motion around the joints.

NKT  technique can help relieve pain and also correct dysfunctional movement patterns. NeuroKinetic TherapyTM system is a sophisticated assessment and treatment modality that addresses the causes of dysfunctional movement/coordination problems at their root in the motor control center in the cerebellum. The motor control center stores these patterns and directs their completion through the spinal cord and the muscles.

Swedish massage is done with the use of oil or cream using a firm but gentle gliding along the body's skin.  This type of massage promotes a feeling of relaxation and relief of stress and tension in the body and mind.

During the course of this 90 minute session, I will not only be performing a moderately deep tissue massage that works on releasing tension from within the joints and muscles, you will also receive any intuitive messages from your guides/spirit. These messages can also encourage a stronger release of tension from the body by showing us how body pain can be directly related to "life issues".
